No district office of the state Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) sits in Huntington Beach, so the DWC sends Huntington Beach’s 92646, 92647, 92648 and 92649 to the Santa Ana office at 2 MacArthur Place. Orange County’s two offices are in Santa Ana and Anaheim.
Our office is down the coast in Newport Beach, and the practice is limited to workers’ compensation cases for injured workers.

Which neighbors share the Santa Ana office?
The DWC’s locator, checked in October 2026, returned Santa Ana for Fountain Valley (92708), Westminster (92683) and Seal Beach (90740), as well as for Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa. Garden Grove’s ZIP codes go to Anaheim.
Injuries that build up over time
Labor Code section 3208.1 calls an injury cumulative when it comes from repetitive mentally or physically traumatic activities over a period of time. For those claims, Labor Code section 5501.5 looks to the county where the last injurious exposure occurred, alongside the worker’s home county on the filing date and, with a lawyer, the county of the lawyer’s principal place of business. A Huntington Beach resident whose last injurious exposure was at a job in Long Beach could file in Los Angeles County or in Orange County. Subdivision (c)‘s 30-day employer objection applies only to the lawyer’s-county choice.
Conferences on video, trials in person
Status conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences and lien conferences moved from the DWC’s telephone conference lines to the CourtCall video platform beginning March 3, 2025. Each judge has a virtual courtroom, and each courtroom also has a call-in number.
The DWC still sets trials, lien trials and expedited hearings in person, so a Huntington Beach case filed in Santa Ana goes to 2 MacArthur Place for trial.
How we handle Huntington Beach cases
For an injury that built up over time, the job history matters to venue and to the claim, so we ask about each job in the period, not only the last one. We also gather the DWC-1 claim form, the claims administrator’s letters and the medical reports.
If the firm takes the case, the rest follows the usual path: the Application for Adjudication of Claim, the deadlines, the qualified medical evaluator (QME) process, and the conferences and trials, with us appearing for the client.
Huntington Beach’s largest private employers
Huntington Beach’s financial report for the year ended June 30, 2025 ranks private employers only, and The Boeing Company leads them with 3,200 employees. Cambro Manufacturing, the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, Huntington Beach Hospital, Wal-mart, the Waterfront Hilton Beach Resort, Home Depot and Harbor Distributing are also among the ten largest.
What we handle
- Denied workers’ comp claim, including a claim the claims administrator delayed
- UR and IMR denials, for a treatment request refused in utilization review (UR) and taken to independent medical review (IMR)
- Temporary disability, the checks that replace part of lost wages while a worker recovers
- Permanent disability, for the part of an injury that does not go away
- QME evaluations, when a qualified medical evaluator is asked to settle a medical dispute
- SJDB voucher and return to work, plus the Return-to-Work Supplement that can follow the voucher
- Medical treatment and MPN doctors, including a switch to another doctor in the medical provider network (MPN) after the first visit
