Every Anaheim ZIP code we checked, 92801 through 92808, is assigned to the Anaheim district office of the state Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC), at 1065 N. Link, Suite 170, Orange County’s other district office besides Santa Ana.
The Law Office of Jesse Melendrez, a Newport Beach practice for injured workers, appears at this office for clients, and the DWC’s ZIP list assigns our own office’s ZIP code, 92660, to it as well.
Checking in at 1065 N. Link
- Anaheim district office
- 1065 N. Link, Suite 170, Anaheim, CA 92806-2131
- Main line 714-414-1800; Information and Assistance (I&A) unit 714-414-1801
Visitors check in at the front counter in Suite 170, and the DWC says they are not allowed to wait in the building’s main lobby. The court lobby is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. five days a week, except holidays. Parking on the building’s west and east sides costs nothing, and the DWC says the lot is watched by security cameras and guards. Only bottled water is allowed in the Suite 170 waiting room and on the second floor.
Which other cities go to the Anaheim office?
The list covers more than Anaheim. When we checked the DWC’s ZIP code list in October 2026, it gave the Anaheim office the ZIP codes of Fullerton (92831, 92832, 92833 and 92835), the city of Orange (92865 through 92869), Garden Grove (92840, 92841, 92843, 92844 and 92845) and Buena Park (90620 and 90621).
It also sends most Newport Beach ZIP codes here. The Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach ZIP codes we checked, and all but one of Irvine’s, go to the Santa Ana office instead.
Orange County has two offices. Which one gets the case?
Labor Code section 5501.5 works at the county level first, through residence on the filing date, the place of injury, and the county of a represented worker’s lawyer (Orange County, for our clients). Where a county has more than one office, as Orange County does, subdivision (b) has the application filed at a location in that county that meets those tests, together with the worker’s written consent to the office. If the employer objects to the lawyer’s-county choice within its 30 days, the filing rests on residence or injury instead.
How we handle an Anaheim case
The claim papers and the medical record come first. Once the firm is retained, the application goes in with the venue consent the statute requires, and we take over the important dealings with the claims administrator (the person who handles the claim for the insurer or the employer), the deadlines and the appearances.
Status and settlement conferences are held by video on CourtCall; a trial or an expedited hearing means a trip to 1065 N. Link.
Resort, medical center and sports jobs
The City of Anaheim’s financial report for the year ended June 30, 2025 shows the Disneyland Resort holding about a fifth of all the jobs in the city, 35,900 employees or 20.85 percent. Four medical centers, two sports organizations, Hilton Anaheim, Northgate Market and Extron fill out the list of the ten largest.
The DWC’s guidebook notes that temporary and part-time workers may be eligible for benefits. It also says working out exact temporary disability amounts can be complicated for workers who had a second job or seasonal jobs, or who earned tips or overtime.
What we handle
- Denied claims, when the claims administrator turns a claim down or lets it stall
- UR and IMR treatment denials, from the claims administrator’s utilization review (UR) to the independent medical review (IMR) that can follow it
- Temporary disability, wage-loss payments during recovery, including for workers with tips, overtime or a second job
- Permanent disability, payments for an impairment that lasts
- QME evaluations, exams by a qualified medical evaluator when medical findings are disputed
- SJDB voucher and return to work, the supplemental job displacement benefit (SJDB) voucher for retraining
- Medical treatment and MPN doctors, including care inside the employer’s medical provider network
